BRI Recognized for Steady Growth and Profitability

RTP, N.C. (May 4, 2011)—The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce has recognized BioResource International, Inc. (www.briworldwide.com) with a 2011 Pinnacle Business Award for steady growth and profitability. The North Carolina agricultural biotechnology company has successfully grown from a technology start-up into a profitable global business enterprise. This award follows the recognition of BRI with the 2010 Triangle Business Journal Fast 50 Award as one of the 10 fastest-growing businesses in the Triangle.

“The Chamber’s acknowledgement of BRI’s recent growth and profitability is a great honor and is a real testament to the persistence and hard work of our team in the Triangle, as well as the strong ties with our production and distribution partners around the world,” says Giles Shih, Ph.D., BRI co-founder and CEO. “We are really proud of what we have accomplished so far and believe the best is yet to come for our company.”

Nearly 400 of the Triangle’s top executives and business professionals were in attendance as BRI was honored during the 27th annual awards ceremony at the Raleigh Convention Center on May 3. Pinnacle Business Award winners are selected by an independent group of judges based on sustained growth, innovation and community involvement.

BRI is the developer and producer of the patented enzyme products Versazyme® and Valkerase®, that are distributed to more than 80 countries worldwide.
