RALEIGH, N.C. (November 16, 2010) — Branding and PR firm Articulon (www.articulon.com) announced today that Brian Van Norman, account executive, recently spoke to North Carolina State University communication students. He addressed the students during the school’s Public Relations Student Society of America induction ceremony on November 11.

Van Norman discussed the status of today’s PR market and gave tips for students transitioning from the academic community into the professional world. More than 40 PRSSA members attended.

“Being an NCSU grad myself, I wanted to go back and let the students know what they can expect after graduation,” Van Norman said. “It’s a difficult job market right now, and any way I can help them transition into it is well worth the time.”

Articulon has a six-year history of partnering with N.C. State on its internship program. The firm has served as a launching pad into the communication field for nearly 15 students. This was the second time that Van Norman, a 2007 N.C. State graduate, has spoken to students from the communication department.

Articulon remains committed to supporting the Triangle community. In addition to its longtime partnership with NCSU, the firm supports area nonprofits including the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Eastern North Carolina, the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation, the National Kidney Foundation of North Carolina and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Carolinas Chapter.
